Essays on Anne Frank

Annelies Marie Frank was a girl who stayed positive and happy, even in a time of hate and great sadness. You probably know Annelies as Anne Frank. Anne to this day is a great example of someone who powered through hard times and someone who could always be positive.

Anne was born in 1929, 4 years before Hitler was elected chancellor or “prime minister” of Germany. When Anne was born she had an older sister named Margot who she was very close to. From the time Anne said her first word she didn’t want to stop talking. The only time she would stop talking was when her father told Anne stories. Annelies respected her father but she would often argue with her mom.

In 1933 Hitler was elected chancellor of Germany. Hitler thought the cause of all problems had to do with Jews. He said that all jews must wear a star of david that said jew on it. It wasn’t long before Hitler made jews go to seperate schools just for jews. Even though Anne was split up from her friends she stayed positive and happy, and insisted that things would get better. Anne was wrong.

One day Margot Frank came home with a letter from the nazi’s that said Margot was going to be taken to a labor camp the next morning.

The Franks instantly packed their bags and hid in the back of the Opekta spices hq. The Franks weren’t lonely in the secret annex because some of Otto Frank’s employees agreed to help the Franks hide. The helpers were Miep Gies , Johannes Kleiman , Victor Kugler and Bep Voskuijl. The helpers got groceries for the Franks and the helpers helped keep the hiding place secret. The Franks weren’t the only jewish people living in the secret annex. The Van-Pels family and Fritz Pfeffer moved in in 1942.

In the secret annex, Anne wrote in her diary many times. In her diary she wrote her feelings and emotions. In the secret annex Anne had her first kiss with Peter Van-Pels. In 1944 the Gestapo came to arrest the inhabitants of the secret annex. Someone had snitched on them. To this day nobody know who snitched on them. When Anne and her family was arrested they were split up by boys and girls. Anne, Margot, Edith, Miep, and Bep were sent in a crammed train car to westerbork transit camp where they waited until there was room in Auschwitz concentration camp.

In the camp Anne still proceeded to help people in need. Anne helped give extra food to sick friends and family. Anne died of typhus, a disease caused by infection from ticks and bacteria, in 1945, just a couple of weeks before the camp was liberated by Soviet troops. Anne’s legacy was her diary which became a story of hope and positivity. Anne’s dad and Miep Gies lived to tell the story. The secret annex was opened to the public in 1975. Anne’s diary was translated into over 60 different languages. Anne’s legacy and the story will live on forever as a story of hope and kindness.
