The photograph of Kellogg PEP cereal likely happened within 19305-19405 and that we can tell that by how the image is black and white. Also, how the husband is wearing a suit and tie as if he’s returning home from work, while wife wearing the housewife clothes like an apron, feather duster, and dress, and the PEP cereal box in the bottom left. The pep cereal was booming in the 19305-19405 because it was the first cereal to back up by vitamins, however, it was an era where people did not understand how vitamins could likely help them in their lives. Kellogg’s premise is that individuals should consider buying the pep cereal because it provides you with energy and boosts your performance in daily lives.

Kellogg had a unique idea back in that day where having vitamins will help peoples‘ lives and make them ready to do more work without feeling exhausted Kellogg aid their claim, when the husband said “Gosh. Honey, you seem to thrive on cooking, cleaning, and dusting — and I‘m all tuckered out by closing time. What‘s the answer? Wife replied with “Vitamins, darling! I always get my vitamins!" It demonstrates that the pep cereal gives the wife full of energy throughout the long day and she was able to complete all the work, while husband is tired and can‘t do it anymore. We can guess why wife said this because husband sees her wife all full of energy while he’s drained. The message we can get out from the wife “vitamins" is to point out that taking the pep has loads of vitamins to get you throughout the day.

The logos of the PEP advertisement is that the wife is trying to convince that consuming the PEP will give you energy. The vitamins are beneficial to everyone lives if they take it enough which can help them do more work and boost your energy without being fatigued compare to those that don’t have pep. This is also an ethos because the wife is the proof that the PEP is giving her energy and it shows credibility how she is having so much energy. Nevertheless, Kellogg did a terrible job marking the pep and one may say this advertisement is sexist. If it wasn’t for the Kellogg logo within the bottom, nobody would realize it was a PEP cereal advertisement.

People may have a wrong idea of this advertisement and consider this as a woman’s responsibility which is to remain home and do all the chores.
