Therefore, It is not a novel that talks about white people and how they should change. In other words, it is powerful, a simple testament of an offering of understanding and one man's experience. The desire and empathy to understand what we haven't experienced but we know are pernicious facts of recent American life are main facts to the changes all people must make.

Many people in the today's era have grown in rich families. They never had a taste of race or tribalism. They did no even think of the lens of race. It is my belief that the issue of institutionalized racism and race is the most critical issue as a country we face right now. It is evident with the events of the past four years. There is a focused bright light concern on issues many people in America and the entire world were dimly aware of. There was a chance that many had on the issue, but they could not want to face them. Coates brings in a sense of change to the people who are ready to change to follow the moral way. The book is a heartbreaking and expressionistic.

There is the inability to check on the causes of pain even if it is either right in front of many people but remains as a human defense mechanism. However, it is defense mechanism that always is not responsible for serving any of the people or their country as well. The desire and empathy to understand what we haven't experienced but we know are pernicious facts of recent American life are main facts to the changes all people must make. Many people have lived the life Coate is describing. They make many people read again and again.

There is a need for somebody to detangle and articulate the pernicious myths and bad history. It is done especially for those that long held the country back from dealing with it, understanding and moving forward. It happens to the issue of race. Coates input helps one to see the disgrace and inhumanity of many of country's politics and laws. Many moments in the book accomplish that.
