Sometimes symbolism can reference a character’s journey by how the stage is lightened, or how a film is shot, or what a character is saying that might impact the story. Or maybe how the visuals are saying to the audience. Sometimes symbolism can really help the story but it really depends on how they do. What they need to is do something that doesn’t reveal everything. The audience should think about what may happen, but the audience shouldn’t have all the answers.
