"The road to success is always under construction" (Tomlin qtd. in “Lily”). Civil engineering has been around for centuries advancing its use throughout history shaping our society as a whole with its creative style of education, skills, and experiences. Analysis of civil engineer work ethics reveals that the need for construction is important, as too many civilizations are constantly changing over time. These talented individuals are the reason the world is expanding the way that it is today and I believe that this career was meant for me since I love to help improve the environment and its people to have a better life than they do now.

During my life, I have had the precious opportunity to witness various designs and how to interpret them using the skills of not only what I learned in school but also of who I was as a person. Civil engineers learn new things daily by experimenting and if I want to be successful in this career, I must do the same by getting to know all of their aspects and connecting them to what I already know.

To begin with, physics and mathematics are the basic education requirements to become a civil engineer. These two areas of study will show civil engineers how to deal with issues that they are going to encounter while developing their massive creations. When civil engineers produce new ideas to the world, they want to make them stand out from the rest of what life has to offer so that they can be cherished forever as a sign of a new movement. "We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us" (Churchill qtd. in "Winston").

The most important masterpieces done by the hands of civil engineers would not have been made possible if it was not for the key principles of physics and mathematics by learning how things work with one another. Civil engineering is all about the construction of everyday systems through the knowledge of physics and mathematics (Bengston). Physics and mathematics have played a major role in my life by letting me get in the habit of solving real-world problems and the statistics behind them. Science, in general, has always been my favorite subject and math being my least since I hate dealing with a various weird equations that seem too complicated to solve.

Over the years, I have taken chemistry honors, physics honors, and AP calculus, which are the ones particularly required to become a civil engineer. Surprisingly, I passed all of these classes while in high school, but not the AP exam itself, so to start strong where I want to be in the future, then it's going to take a lot of math which I hate but it has to be done. Civil engineers never quit at anything until they succeed in their outcome and I believe with that mindset and determination anything is possible holds for my life.

Moreover, the key features of a civil engineers life consist of research and management skills. Before any decision is made, civil engineers would have to inspect every particle of their blueprint and prototype to make sure nothing doesn't fail to cause harm to the innocent individuals around them by calculating the size and the specific amount of supplies needed. The errors made by civil engineers are the main cause of natural disasters (Xie and Qu). Keeping everything in order is the main importance of a civil engineer's life by being prepared to face the most crucial effects of life itself so everyone knows what tasks they need to accomplish before being confirmed as completed.

They don't do this alone, however; they use a variety of tools that make their jobs easier, safer and more accurate to perform such as knowledge discovery, information system, inductive reasoning, intelligent systems, data mining, pattern recognition, decision-making, and machine learning. The success of civil engineers comes from their research and management skills (Zavadskas). I am a very organized person and always want to check my work over multiple times before submitting it for review to make sure everything is perfect, but whenever I choose to do this process I would end up second-guessing myself making me have the wrong answer instead. This would not be very good in civil engineering because I would be putting the lives of thousands in danger so I need to just be confident in my findings at first hand.

Furthermore, civil engineers come into contact with several different environments around the world willing to face as many odds as possible to fulfill their wildest desires of expanding the world for the good and its future existence. "Scientists dream about doing great things. Engineers do them" (Michener qtd. in "James”). Being in this position lets them learn all about the characteristics of the world and find ways that will improve life on earth and end those that are negative causing chaos little by little.

This task is not easy though, they must be aware of the weather and climate change for each day it is constantly changing which can be very deadly at occasions because they work outdoors with heavy-duty equipment and are witnessed to very high air time. From learning about the hardships that civil engineers face every day throughout their lives I can see that this career is not going to be an easy one because I am not used to dealing with extreme temperatures while working. I plan to strategize their techniques and learn how to train my body to adapt to certain scenarios so that I can help all those in need without any disadvantages.

In Conclusion, civil engineers abilities should not be limited because they have a vision of making the world a better place to live in (Ramirez and Seco). My knowledge of civil engineers overall as a career is something I am looking forward to becoming the future since they are very creative in all of their inventions by using the methods that they have learned in physics and mathematics to do the impossible. I may not be that close of being sustainable for all of their requirements but I will give it my best shot since it is my dream career where I will construct extraordinary monuments that will last a lifetime.
