Bell (2011) explains that diversity is an apparent distinction drawn between people with respect to factors such as religion, sex, skin color, abilities (physical and mental), religion, family backgrounds and age. This impacts their potential, chances to develop in the human race. These dissimilarities might be readily visible, strongly associated with personal identity and with influence or governance among affairs between groups.

Schools, organizations and religious manifestations are bound to develop only if their associates are hard working, striving and focused. We are hard workers and struggle to make the best out of any circumstances we may find ourselves in, then why the invisibility factor. Being invisible is very stressful as that stops your potential and keeps your morale very low, thus making you suffer for the basic necessities of life which in majority groups is sometimes the case with luxuries.

Here I would like to disclose my experience being a part of an immigrant family. My parent's migrated to U.S in 1975. Growing up in America has been hard for me as well. My parents' low socioeconomic position made it tough for me to thrive, even though both my parents and I very much wanted to get ahead. The surroundings in which I found myself further limited the chances: too many existed in district that was very poor and communally inaccessible, where local schools did not operate and the roads were overwhelmed by violent behaviors and illegal drugs.

Due to being deficient in English adeptness or illiteracy in our home verbal communication, I was not signed up in bilingual programs, and often found myself either upheld to the next grade in spitefulness of deprived presentation or keep hold of the same grade. My school's promotion/retention rule was therefore a contribution to the dangers of falling out or remains poorly educated.

Things got better as time passed by and I wanted to apply for a job. Thinking I could easily land up in any organization, I was again faced with the same situation. Some time back I phoned an employment agent in relation to a nursing job opportunity which was advertised in the local newspaper. Upon hearing my voice, a woman who received my call said that this opening was only for people who have been notified as Affirmative Action Candidates. I told her that that we are classified as people of color and ethnicity but she did not like talking to me further and hung up the phone on me. After that comment I lost interest in that position and started to hunt for other jobs. That simply shattered my morale and I can still recall those words I heard over the phone.

I firmly believe what I once read in a book that "minorities have always existed in their own small close-knit communities, but that does not justify denial for recognition".

My personal experience is not in any way suggesting that we should be taken care of in any special manner compared to other majority groups, but it does reflect that moving us a side or treating us as "others" is not the solution to any problem, rather it means that this suppression will bring a futile rebelliousness in minorities which is not in favor of any nation.
