Naegleria fowler sounds like it's from a horror movie; it feeds off its victim's brain until the victim dies. It's a scary thing to know that there's something out there waiting to feed off someone's brain and kill them. It's something so small no one can see with the naked eye. The only good thing about it is that it doesn't live everywhere it only lives in some parts of the United States in warm freshwater. All in all, everyone should stay away from warm fresh water because of Naegleria Fowleri; it is very dangerous, it is easy to contract, and it is very horrific.

To begin with, Naegleria Fowleri is dangerous because it can kill people without being detected. Once it's in someone's system it is very hard to get rid of. It starts to eat the brain instantly and it could be too late when you start showing symptoms. The symptoms to Naegleria Fowleri are headache, fever, stiff neck, nausea, and vomiting. Once infected it can take up to a week and a half or even less to kill its victim. The number of cases of people that have contracted Naegleria Fowleri is 132 from 1962-2013. The survival rate of Naegleria Fowleri is less than 1%. There are only three known people who have survived from it. The most resent survivor from it is a little girl named Kali Hardig. Kali spent almost a month in the hospital getting treated with an experimental anti-amoeba drug doctors got directly from the CDC. They also reduced her body temperature to 93 degrees; a technique doctors have used in some brain injury cases to preserve undamaged brain tissue. Even though those treatments worked on Kali they don't always work out on other people. Therefore, getting Naegleria Fowleri is very dangerous because mostly everyone who comes across with it dies.

Also, Naegleria Fowleri is pretty easy to come in contact with because it lives in warm fresh water and also lives in 18 states. People who swim in warm fresh water have a great risk in getting the brain eating amoebic parasite. The way people contract it is by putting their whole head under water and getting the water up their nose. Once the amoeba enters the nose it rushes up towards the brain. When it gets to the brain it starts chowing on it. Places with fresh water now have warning signs warning people about Naegleria Fowleri. It is recommended for people to wear nose plugs while swimming. There is no known cure for the amoebic parasite. To conclude, Naegleria Fowleri is easy to get because of how many states have the amoeba living in their warm fresh water.

Lastly, the amoebic parasite is very horrifying because it's almost like it came from a scary movie. It lives in warm fresh water and it waits to attack. Once its prey is in the water it strikes and swims into the nose and goes straight to the brain to start chowing on it. It is kind of scary knowing that there is something so small no one can see with the naked eye that causes and it causes so much damage. If people don't take precaution while going swimming in warm fresh water they will get it. Naegleria Fowleri can kill its victims within days. Overall, the amoeba is very horrifying because of how small it is and what damage it does.

In conclusion, everyone who is going to go swimming in warm fresh water should wear nose plugs so they reduce their chances in getting Naegleria Fowleri. This amoebic parasite is very dangerous, easy to contract, and very horrifying. It has no cure so everyone need to watch out.
