  1. The siblings should find something in common. They should find something that they both enjoy to do. This will make them get along better.
  2. They should share responsibilities. If siblings have to work together to accomplish something by sharing the workload they can become more compatible with each other.
  3. The oldest sibling should take on more of a "big brother" role. The younger sibling looks up to the older sibling a lot. If the older sibling does not abuse this role, he or she can be a good influence on the younger sibling.
  4. The children should be treated equally. If parents show favoritism towards one child, the other child can develop a resentment of the child being favored.
  5. They should be able to work out their differences on their own. This will help them understand each other and help them to be compassionate to each other's needs.
  6. The children should find something to do that is non-competitive. If they are in a relaxed environment that is not competitive, they will get along better.
  7. The children should have their own personal space. If they do activities separately, they will begin to enjoy each other's company more when they are together.
