According to the Census Bureau in 2010, five states (California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, and New York ) were labeled to have the largest populations in the United States. As of September 2012, there are only three states (California, Florida, and Nevada ) have passed laws permitting self-driving cars. A law has been proposed in Texas to establish criteria that would allow self-driving cars to be driven on roads [49-50].
