Major depressive disorder is also referred to as depression. It is a common disorder of the moods that may at times be serious and require clinical attention. The study included 145 female medical students from different institutions whose depressive symptoms were analyzed after doing social work and other medical related tasks. The study showed that the participants who performed more social work and medical aid showed higher levels of depressive symptoms. These findings are documented to ensure that people avoid the major causes of depression and at the same time know identify the symptoms of depression in order to seek timely treatment. Depression can greatly affect the quality of the patients' life since it affects the person's judgment, and the way they relate to people. Luckily, depression is a treatable condition where through medication and a combination of therapies, patients can lead their normal lives.
