How many of you woke up and just thought it was going to be a normal day? I bet not many of you came to school thinking that this day, Wednesday April 5th would be your last day here on Earth. Often we take for granted the beautiful life God has given us. There is so much we as people, especially Christians could do to make our lives and most importantly the lives of others better. We spend a lot of time thinking about the little things, and when something big or bad happens, all your little problems feel like nothing.

A lot of the time we do not think about them fact that we only have a limited amount of time on Earth. We often think since we are young we have our whole lives ahead of us, which we do but that "life" ahead of us could only be but so long. Recently I had a friend from church pass away at the age of 16. His death truly made me angry with the Lord. I wondered why he would do this to someone so nice, so caring so... young. His passing really put things into perspective and that shouldn't be. It shouldn't take something as big as someone's life ending to make me or anyone else realize that our priorities should change.

We shouldn't spend our lives worrying about the small selfish problems or the... negative, but instead focus on how we can make our lives more positive and especially the lives of others. Think about how you wake up on a Monday morning, or any morning. I bet the majority of us do not wake up and start the day with a positive mindset. James Clear, an author and studier of behavioral psychology, habit formation, and performance improvement, has a lot to say about thinking and acting positively. He says that going into situations with a positive attitude can broaden your mind to think more outside of the box and more creative.

But on the other hand, negative emotions will narrow your thoughts and you will only be able to think "inside the box". Having a positive mindset before you take a test or do something you are nervous results in better test scores or you being a more confident you. Positivity is so important for our own well being.

Not only can being positive affect you but it definitely affects others. Spreading positivity and the joy of the Lord to others, not only fills you with joy but them as well. Think about it. If you are around someone who is happy or cheerful, that automatically makes you want to smile too! But if you are around someone who is negative and constantly complaining, their attitude may cause you to be in a bad mood. This will also make you think about all the small negative things, instead of being grateful for all the gifts from God we do have.
