Should Abortion Be Legal?

Abortion is about allowing women the right to make choices about when they want to have children in age, money and relationships. Abortion should be legal and allow woman to have a second chance at life. Even though abortion has positives, it cannot be used as a form of birth control. If abortion is to remain legal, it should be regulated and controlled to enhance the life of the mother and be a benefit to society.

Firstly Some people aren't fit to be parents. Sometimes people make a mistake, but that mistake should not be able to ruin someone's life especially if they have a bright future ahead of them. For example, if a teenager gets pregnant, I believe she should get an abortion. Raising a child is not an easy task and requires social and emotional commitment couples with financial support.

Secondly the government cannot tell us what to do. If a woman were to become pregnant, and it would affect her life in a way she wasn't ready for, who are we to tell her that she has to carry it anyways also if she got raped. We get right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness when we are born. The fetus does not have these rights until it is born. So abortion is not murder and abortion does not go against the rights of a fetus since it does not have any until born.

Thirdly Abortion reduces crime. Teenage girls, unmarried women, and poor women are more likely to have unintended pregnancies, and since unwanted babies are often raised in poverty, their chances of leading criminal lives in adulthood are increased.

In conclusion Making abortion illegal will increase teenage pregnancy. This usually leads to illegal abortions which can lead to death or permanent health defects, poverty, joblessness, hopelessness, and dependency.
