Injun Joe gets away with the crime and Tom is left feeling guilty.A few years later, Tom is now a young man and is in love with a girl named Becky Thatcher. However, Becky is not interested in Tom and instead prefers another boy named Alfred Temple. This rejection only makes Tom more determined to win Becky over and he finally does so by rescuing her from a dangerous situation.The two young lovers get married and have a child of their own, but tragedy strikes when Injun Joe comes back seeking revenge on Tom. In the end, Injun Joe is killed and Tom is left a widower.
