The Bundy family does not show any Christian values or attachments to the same because of their lifestyles. I believe that religion can be used constructively to help this family get functional and organized. It is imperative to note that religion is an important social issue that addresses in a significant manner the way people live and relate in the society. In the family, particularly, the role of religion- irrespective of the denomination cannot be understated.

This is why the apparent lack of a religious commitment by the Bundy family can be said to have an impact on the functionality of the family. This makes it essential for the family to relook into their existence and life and introduce religion so that they can find a steadier standing in the family. As a Christian, I would suggest that they seek counseling so that they can adopt faith and the all- important doctrines to guide their lives. It is essential to demonstrate faith as a Christian and follow the same with action, for faith without action is dead (James 2:14-26). Similarly, if this family is introduced to Christianity and manages to live by the Christian principles, then some kind of respect is realizable.

In Proverb 22:6, the Bible tells Christians to train their children on the best way to go, and they will live like that for the rest of their lives (New King James Version). This, however, is not the case with the Bundy family because the children have been allowed to adopt wayward lifestyles. The role of the parents in showing their children the right way must also be underscored from the context of this family. It is instructive to note that the parents in this family do not take their parental obligations of giving their children the right direction in life seriously.

The parents themselves are wayward in their own way and often indulge in some activities, behavior, and excesses that not only discredit them but also make them fail to impress a positive behavior in their children. This orientation is what makes their children be the way they are because the parents have been unable to direct them because of the lack of moral authority to do the same. However, all is not yet lost, and the parents can reverse the situation by guiding their children using religious principles so that they can secure their futures.

Christianity recognizes the father as the head of the family, even if this is not to say that the mother's role is not crucial. The bottom line, therefore, is that the father needs to be firm and instill discipline since the bible is also categorical in Proverbs 23:13 that it is essential to discipline a child with the rod as this is just making them better (New King James Version).

Even though it could be tricky to become violent and beat their children up, the parents in this film can look at other means of instilling discipline and create order. For instance, it is not wise for Peggy to look away when her daughter is stealing from her father. The violence that the father has been directing towards others who seduce his daughter is misplaced, and he should look at the better and proven modus used in the contemporary so that he can reclaim his family and make it functional again.
