People of all nations who feel they are connected to those who are miles apart via news or any communication media have some responsibilities towards the world and getting involved in organized efforts to promote a healthy global community. An international student studying in America and a Native American are equally responsible to the social community. The broadening of citizen action into the global sphere makes you responsible towards the world to make it a better place to live. A responsible global citizen is defined as a person who places their identity with a "global community" above their identity as a citizen of a particular nation or place.
The concern to have equal human rights in the world makes us responsible to think about our actions as a global citizen. The important issues of universalism, global politics and global equality are some of the topics a citizen needs to think. So, as a global citizen, we need to act globally to promote the human rights given to them by some global treaties. However, do we really think of them? The earth's human community is interdependent and we need to be kind to everyone. Promoting human rights in the world cannot be solved by individual nations: it depends on the citizens in the world. And, if we don't realize this, some of the global issues will continue to worsen.
In 1908, there was a march for women's rights through New York City demanding equal economic, political, and cultural rights. A year later, it was celebrated as National Women's Day. This day (March 8) became international in 1911 supported by Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. Today, we celebrate international women's day in almost every country. But this movement has a great effect over women empowerment. There is a 10% increase in the equality of wages, salary, and empowerment of the world's women as compared to 1990. Womens' share in labor force is increasing and almost everywhere women are working out of their houses. This increase is a result of the awareness via global citizens. Still, there is no equality in the responsibilities of a women and a man. The financial problems force dual parents to work and there is more pressure on the women's shoulders. We need to raise our voice for the equal participation of women in key decision-making as full and equal partners with men. We need to eliminate gender inequality from the local level and only then can we be a part of the change we need.

We have the responsibility to make connections and build relationships with people from other nations. Otherwise, we will never be able to frame solutions to the global issues and will limit our lives to our small communities. Most of the nations have people from other countries and thus share different cultures. But we need to connect with them socially if we want to understand their problems and want to contribute to the solutions to the problems of the globe. And for those places, which still don't have people from other cultures or nations, Internet is providing a lot more ways to create a global perspective. In this way, we can help to bring the best elements of our different cultures to the task of building world community of peace and love.
The cultural and behavioral values of the world community are found in most of the world's tradition. Almost all the different cultures in the world share the same values of love, peace, service, caring, equality, forgiveness, tolerance, truth, gratitude, satisfaction, and humility. But the truth is that most of the people follow almost the opposite of these values. If we can bring a change in how people practice these values, there would be fewer problems in the world. Many global problems are examples that we are not following our values.
It is our responsibility to think about the world's problems and resolving them. We have the responsibility to contribute equally to humankind. We need to actively participate in making the lives of our fellow global citizens better. We have to help remake the world. And this route of change begins only when we understand we are responsible.
