Mentoring is referred to as a mutual relationship that exists between two people. (Mentor and Mentee). A mentor is a person who is mentoring while mentee is the individual being mentored. The two individuals are usually in the same field or are sharing similar experiences. The mentor guides mentee in finding the career direction as well as solving career issues along the process. They usually rely on experiences that are similar to gain empathy and understand issues with the mentee. The whole process provides an opportunity to the mentee to evaluate their career progress and options. A mentor helps to boost the confidence of mentee and to believe in themselves.

The mentoring process has several benefits to the mentee. One, the process offers great clarity to the mentee regarding career choices as well as the goals that they want to achieve. Two, it enhances high career satisfaction hence increasing the likelihood of an individual succeeding. Additionally, the process allows the mentor to develop network connections as well as gain access to career role models[Mar071]. Further, the mentee can gain confidence and acquire leadership skills that will assist him along his career path.

Despite the mentoring process being seen as beneficial to the mentee, the process presents opportunities to both parties.

Isolation

Isolation is referred to as a condition of being alone. It occurs especially when an individual feels unhappy with the state. If the condition is not well managed, it leads to loneliness as well as self-doubt to the individual. In severe cases, isolation causes depression in the affected persons.

Individuals who tend to be isolated are partially or completely cut from the rest of the world. To some, isolation is viewed as an act where an individual is craving for time to be alone but studies have disputed this idea and argued that it finally leads to loneliness. The common type of isolation that researchers believe that almost 20% of human being suffers from it is known as social isolation[Antl3].

Social isolation occurs when a person has a complete or lack of contact with people or the society at large. Social isolation is not the same as loneliness as it can be a big issue to any person irrespective of their age. However, the syndromes may vary by age groups. The isolation can either be self-imposed or a life-long cycle in an individual that has never been broken.

Social isolations can lead to individuals staying away from other people for days or even weeks, without having communication including family or even close friends. During that period, such individuals will try to avoid contact with other people at all cost. Even if they go to public places, their interactions will be poor socially. Their feelings of loneliness and having a low esteem can even lead to severe psychological problems.
