Albert Einstein was a Mathematician and the winner of a Nobel peace prize on Photoelectric effect in 1921. He turned over new laws and theories for years to come and changed the way we see math and science. He had many changes in his life that tried to stop what he wanted to study and do but he ignored it and went on for it. Even passing through high school and college for the first and second time.
He was born in Ulm, Germany on March 14, 1879, to Jewish parents. His wonders began in his early years when he encountered a compass at the age of five. He was curious at the way the compass would turn to the different directions of where it was pointing. At the age of 12, he discovered a geometry book. His wonders filled again after he worked in the geometry book, even naming it as his “sacred little geometry book”. He became deeply religious at the age of 12, making and singing songs about God and chanting them too. This affected the way he thought about religion after he began to read more science books and challenged the way he thought about his life and what he thought was right. At his school's gymnasium, he felt left out and different because of his beliefs, he even felt out of place. One teacher commented on how he would never amount to anything. But this didn't stop Einstein, he had a person to look up to during every dinner. He was a young medical student named Max Talmud. He became Einstein's tutor, teaching him higher up math and philosophy. He helped Einstein have a turning point in his life when, at the age of 16, introduced him to a children's science series by Aaron Bernstine, Naturwissenschaftliche Volksbьcher, in which the author imagined riding alongside wires with electricity traveling through them. This baffled Einstein for years to come, even made him write his first scientific paper over it.
His education quickly ended when his father lost his job and he moved to a family member to continue his study and work. He was left alone in a boarding house for the remainder of most of his education until he ran away from his home, also fearing his 16-year-old self would work in the military, six months later he arrived on his parents' doorstep. His parents were surprised and disappointed about the hardships einstein has faced from being a dropout and no job. His future didn't look great. He was allowed to go to a technical school for a high school diploma and passed his entrance exams. He was high in Physics and Mathematics but not in French, biology, and chemistry. Because of his math exam, he was allowed into the school if he could finish his general high school education and pass. He did and he was enrolled in the technical school and graduated in 1896. He met his soon-to-be wife also at the school and ended up teaching there.
When working there, his question from when he was 16 years old kept returning to him. How can you race energy through a light beam? Einstein studied Maxwell’s equations, which describe the nature of light, and discovered something that not even Maxwell founded. The speed of light stays the same no matter what. But, it still violated Newton's law of motion; but, because his Law talks nothing about absolute velocity, Einstein creates his own principle about it. The principle of relativity. In 1905, he published papers on it about Light traveling. This would cause modern physics in the future. Other scientists have also submitted papers about relativity but Einstein was the first person to connect them all together. He was also the first to realize the law of nature when connecting the theories and papers.
These discoveries and theories help the foundation of math and physics and continue to help the rest of the world in every mathematical way and another scientific way. Einstein was told he was never going to make it in life because of the actions he made as a child and teenager but those choices helped him grown for the love of math and physics for years to come and is still discussed in every class about physics, math, sciences, and even history.
