African Americans have been seen as the criminals of society since the early ages, In the legal system, African Americans have always received the hard end of the stick. Some of the problems that are taking place within our system are inequality depending on the case being discussed, mass incarceration for unethical crimes, and a lack of justice for the African American community. African Americans have been treated unfairly just because of their skin color. Many accidents that occurred in black society have yet to have justice. For example, the murders of Emmitt Till, Trayvon Martin, Eric Gardner, Alton Sterling and others by the police and other racial groups Until this very day, these individuals have not received any justice and their cases have not been resolved, In Black History, we have always been captured into captivityt People back in the day and some even today do not like to see black individuals succeed in any way, shape, or form.
Black people were raped, beaten, sprayed with water hoses, and even lynched just because people did not feel as though they did not belong there. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. was beaten and incarcerated because of his speech and the message he was trying to relay to the community about racial equality We could not depend on no one but ourselves because that would put us in a more uncompromised position than what we were already in, Another example would be Rosa Parks. She was beaten and told to get up out of her seatjust so that a white man could sit down. When Rosa stood up for herself she made a historical statement for us as black people. As a result of this incident, a boycott erupted where we were tired of being treated like animals and we demanded respect for not only ourselves but other minorities as well.
African Americans had to fight for everything that we have earned. We have to stick together because we are all that we have. All of these black on black crimes disappoint me because we as a whole have been through so much and we have to save ourselves even if no one else will. African Americans have a variety of hidden talents and we have done so much for this country despite of how we were handled in the past. We have invented some of the most important things that are still being used in today’s age such as peanut butter, the straightening comb, traffic lights, wheat, and even the clock. In our society, we were not treated or looked at as people but rather as a threat to our community. As I look into the legal system I see that not too many things have changed from how it used to be.

For example, if a white and black individual committed the same crime, the black individual would get a longer sentence than the white individual. Not to sound racist, but they do not want us here. Whites are doing whatever they can to get rid of black people and incarcerate us for as long as possible. We have freedom according to the public eye but on the inside we are still being treated with a lack of equality and respect. Black people have overcome a tremendous amount of adversity and for that I can say that I am proud to be an African American.
In conclusion, as you can see black people have evolved over the years. We have been through slavery, unequal rights to vote, no employment opportunities, and consistent legal issues. In the legal system. black people have expanded and some of us have transitioned to positions within the coun of law. Our history is changing day by day. I have realized how important our history is and not to take it for granted. African Americans have done a lot for our country and some have not been recognized despite of all that we have encountered within the legal system. In a variety of ways we have become victorious and have made a name for ourselves that we can be proud of and greatly appreciated for.
