My name is Tom. I am currently on my second semester at Institute of Technology, as well as a student at Park High School. I am enrolled in the Legal Office Professional program. Through this program the basic courses have given me plenty of insight on what my dream job would consist of. During my first semester I mastered the basics of accounting. Even when all the numbers started to not make sense, I was determined to stay focused to end the semester with confidence. I got the chance to become Microsoft certified through my Word Processing class and also become an improved writer in my Human Relations class. However, the instructors at Tech made a vast impact on my overall academic performance. Which is what appeals to me about my "technical" education; therefore, the instructors here do a fine job at preparing their students for what is to come in their careers.
Through all my academic performance, I have a passion for my potential career in law. That is one of the characteristics I possess that will likely help me succeed in this career. It's crucial to have a passion for any career choice because it is what will drive excellent work ethic and provide anyone with significant opportunities to advance in their career of choice. Secondly, I am a leader. I often find myself in that position to lead in group projects or an individual because I am capable of sharing my knowledge to help others or get a given task done. I also obtain the quality of being a positive person. I believe in seeing the brighter side of any situation is a key factor in finding a solution because it could be worse.
Evidently, that is one of the things my friends would say about me. Something else my friends would say about me if they were asked to describe me is that I am reliable and a trustworthy person. I always want to bring the best out of people, especially the people I love, meaning I want them to persevere through any occasion. Through all the seriousness, my friends would also describe me as outgoing.

On the other hand, if I was awarded a scholarship it would impact my life by showing my mother that all her hard work has paid off. My mom has raised my sister and I to value our education, since it's not something we should take for granted here in America. My mother is an intelligent and hard working woman that has always wanted us be rewarded with the best education. Now I want to reward her for the patience she has had with my sister and I to accomplish our dreams and providing us with endless support. My mother has also been a role model for me to know what a good employee looks like.
Moreover, a good employee is able to take responsibilities and to be an independent worker. I would be a good employee because I am able to take responsibility and work independently to keep the company running smoothly. A good employee should also be loyal to be reliable in any company. A good employee should also benefit the company, not slow down a company. Which is what I would bring to a job opportunity through my passion.
