Why be alone instead of being in gangs? Adolescents that have Family problems often join gangs because they are not treated well or loved from their parents. Also, adolescents join because of poverty or because they feel out of society. Gangs are usually located in the inner cities where building, people, and streets are in bad condition. Gangs usually dress almost the same, and the Greasers from the Outsiders dress with jeans and t-shirt. They got their name Greasers because they put oil in their hair. In the novel The Outsiders, there is a gang member named Dallas Winston who lived in New York. At first he was a gangster from New York, but later he moved to another gang called the Greasers. This character was rude to everyone, even to the girls, but not to the Greasers. One day in the movie theaters he met two girls. The first moment he sees them he goes to flirt around, but the girls dislike Dallas because of his rudeness. The third character trait is that he is a wrongdoer. In one hand, this guy never liked to follow the laws; he always tried to break laws. He liked to be seen as if he was breaking laws. On the other hand when he went to the movie theaters he would never pay for the tickets, although it cost only a quarter. Therefore that is why Dally was brave, rude, and a wrongdoer.
In summary Dallas Winston is brave, rude and a wrongdoer. He has evil character traits, but in one way it is good for the Greasers. It is good because with Dallas, people will be scared of the Greasers and they can have protection. Also it is bad because he can cause many problems like going to jail, fighting against another gang, robbing, etc. Dallas was one of the members in the greaser that was cool because of his bravery. Also he is a dangerous man because he goes around beating everyone. That is why Dally is brave, rude, and a wrongdoer.
