Should all people's opinions be valued equally? It depends on who you ask. For one to have an opinion, they must be backed up by reasons. Some may say how many opinions are "uninformed" and have no valid reason. Or some say that all "correct" opinions must be backed by scientific proof, while others should be ignored. An opinion is what makes up a person. It describes how the person thinks and acts. Opinions tell you what you do, how you act. Many people have opinions that may have been shunned. In this world, society decides if your opinions are "valid", if the society thinks that your opinions "bad", that's just society's opinion. If you step in that person's shoes, you will understand the reasons behind the opinion, but others' wouldn't.
They would think that the actions are wrong and foolish and have no valid reason. Opinions are all based on perspective. Society has shaped what's good and what's bad. If society decides that it doesn't like your opinion, then you will be rejected as a bad person. But in your mind you know your reasons.
When we think back to the 1800s we immediately think of the war against slavery, or the civil war. The war was all slavery against no-slavery. If we think back we will know how bad slavery was and it was unfair to the African Americans. Not to the south, the south believed that slavery was a good thing and slaves were their property. Now we think that the south were inconsiderate people. Because the North won the civil war, civilization has been shaped so that slavery is no longer a "valid" opinion. But if the South won the civil war, society would have shaped the world so that slavery is a "valid" opinion.

Opinions have no right or wrong, opinions all depend on perspective. Slavery was never a "bad" thing neither was it ever a "good" thing. Even now there are many people in southern America who think that African Americans are still slaved and they are now rejected from the community as outcasts, even though they have their own reasons like the society does. Society's opinion, though accepted by many, is no more powerful than any other opinion.
When we think of facts, we think of scientifically proven opinions. But facts are really opinions that almost everyone believes. So essentially, facts are opinions that society thinks are correct. Back when everybody thought the world was flat and everyone thought it was fact. But now we know that the earth is round. Many say that facts have more power over opinions and should be taken more seriously, but if you compare the words: the earth is flat' with 'pictures are more powerful than words'; you would obviously choose the opinion over the once proven fact. Facts might not be all that true, we don't know if our "facts" and valid or not, so like the example earlier, they should not be treated as more powerful.
Opinions make up a person, without them a human would just be an empty shell. Our civilization has a great impact on the value of our opinions. How valid our opinions are all depends on how society dictates. No opinion has a greater value, every opinion is backed by reasons, and those reasons are judged by society. If everyone had their own opinions where society doesn't dictate if they are "valid", then opinions would be worthless. There is no "wrong" opinion, neither is there a "right" opinion, every opinions are equal.
