In the movie, Homeless to Harvard, Liz, a girl who grew up in the dumps of New York and was homeless ends up in Harvard, one of the most prestigious schools of all the United States. Liz will have to overcome lots of obstacles that will change her life to becoming what she is today, a very educated and successful person. Through out Liz’s life, her attitudes toward school and parents, her drug-addicted parents, and homeless life makes Liz a very successful person.

Liz’s attitudes toward her parents differ greatly from all of the other characters in the movie. She has very good attitudes towards her parents and she loves them. She is the only person in the family that takes care of her sick mother. Lisa, Liz’s sister, on the other hand, does not care about her mother and wants her to die. The only person Liz had in her life was her mother, and after she died, Liz was homeless and had no one in her life to look forward to.

After the death of her mother, this was the most devastating turning point of Liz’s life. The only person that Liz had and cared for was gone. After missing so many years of school just to take care of her mother, Liz makes a huge turning point in her life where she wanted better for herself and the only thing she could look forward to was education. Liz decides to go back to school at the age of 17. Liz had the ambition and determination to finish high school while she was homeless and living on the streets. She finished four years of school in just two.

Liz’s parents being both drug addicted and diagnosed with aids, she manages to live her life with them. They were so addicted to drugs that they did not know anything about their children. Both Liz and her sister were neglected. Her parents were so strung on drugs that Liz and Lisa did not have anything to eat because their parents would use up all the money on drugs. After using drugs for so many years, Liz’s mom gets diagnosed with aids and dies after a couple of months and her dad starts to live at a shelter, and Liz becomes homeless.

Liz being homeless is one of the most important reasons why she succeeds and goes to college. After her mom dies, Liz becomes homeless and lives on the streets. She lives on the streets and eats from the dumpster and she has nowhere to go. Now that Liz does not have to take care of her mother, she believes that she could change her life the other way around and not end up like her parents. She decides to go to school and gets accepted into a public high school. At the age of 17, she starts high school and instead of four years, she finishes school in only two. When she is in school, she applies for a scholarship from New York Times and writes an essay, and she gets a full scholarship to go to a four-year college.

In conclusion, Liz’s attitudes towards her school, her parents, and her homeless life makes her a successful person. Liz is a girl who grew up in the dumps of New York and lived on the streets. She had the determination to finish high school at the age of 17 in two years instead of four and went to Harvard, one of the most prestigious schools of the United States. Homeless to Harvard is one of the few movies that talk about the problem that many societies around the globe are suffering from. This movie also shows how far you can go if you are determined on something. It shows that there is always a hope for a better tomorrow. We all face problems of various degrees, but whatever the problem may be, we can face it with strong belief and will. Be someone and make your life and the entire world around you a better place.
