In my opinion, I think that the Civil War could have been avoided because, so many events that led up to the war made it even more brutal. The Civil War was against the South and the North because they had two different beliefs and they stood strongly behind their beliefs. I truly feel that the incidents that caused the War could have been resolved, but since both sides were so stuck in their ways and there was no backing down from that. The prime reason why the War started was to me honestly was because of the South, the South believed in owing and mistreating the slaves and the North was against that the South was selfish they wanted people to join the cause and the movement of owning slaves, but when President Abraham Lincoln came around he did not approve that.

Slave owners and other people in the South couldn’t stomach the feeling of Lincoln being President because they knew he was against slavery and they knew that owning slaves would soon come to an end. The reason why the South loved owning slaves was because they made money off of them their not doing the work but getting the money and since President Lincoln became President they felt like he was trying to take all of the money away from them, if the south would’ve really sat down and thought about their actions and saw the bigger pictures of things and understood where President Lincoln was coming from then maybe the situation could have been resolved. President Lincoln felt like owning slaves was disrespectful and harsh he felt like we were all human’s beings were the same and should be treated right. Lincoln clearly could have just explained to the south that if they needed workers, they could have just paid them and let them be with their families instead of beating them.

For the one, the slaves were working for free and then another thing they were being mistreated, and that’s not fair, so it could have been ways that Lincoln could have come up with solutions for the south. The Northern and Southern states were different the Northern states were kind of like into the city life, but the South was just worried about their plantation system, and that’s why they bumped heads they were both strongly about their opinions and stood up for what they believed in. I think the real reason on the south having slaves was because of cheap labor maybe the North could have helped the South come with ways to work the African Americans and not beat and abuse them just for money, so yes I think the war could’ve been avoided because it was many ways for them to come together and communicate with one another.

If I were giving the opportunity to prevent the war as President, I would have got both states sides of what they believed in and why. I understand when people have their opinion of things they don’t want to hear the others person sides of the story I would have held meetings between the South and North and they would’ve talked amongst each other the things that they dislike and like about the other state if you don’t actually sit down with a person or somebody you never know what you might learn from them and sitting down and voicing your opinions can solve a lot of conflicts and that’s how I felt with the Civil War it could have been avoided that was the deadliest war, and it lasted for four years why?? Because they didn’t know how to communicate like that back in those days. The North could have come up with ways to help the South end slavery they could have come up with ways to give them jobs, so if I had the opportunity to prevent the war and stooped it I would have held meetings for both sides and see what we could have come up as a whole to restrain the violence.

The southern states was not justified in seceding because honestly, the south had no justified reason to even secede from the union, they had no legal rights to do so anyway and they were still bound to the constitution the south felt like they had to secede because they felt like the state and their lives were at risk so basically they were running and didn’t want to deal with the consequences, they didn’t even have valid reasons on why they were leaving the union once Lincoln was elected President that’s when the south felt the need to leave but they just couldn’t up and leave because they signed the under Article VII of the Constitution which states “The Ratification of the states shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution” so they thought they could do their own thing from just leaving the union they knew President Lincoln was going to outlaw slavery once he was in office and the South didn’t like that because they wanted to always be In control so no I don’t feel like the Southern states were justified in seceding because they had no real legit reason to do so.

No, I don’t think Lincoln’s prosecution of war and wartime policies were justified because it was so much negativity getting the way the real complication is that it was premise on the a belief and that threats cause throughout the north it was people going against Lincoln so some people thought Lincoln was abusing his powers because of coarse Lincoln wasn’t liked by many because he wanted to end slavery so when the north was hearing rumors about Lincoln abusing his powers they didn’t know what to think or how to feel during this time so no I don’t feel like his policies were justified during the war and the wartime it was so many assumptions going around throughout the states.
