There are many problems With affirmative action. It was flawed from the beginning. The biggest problem with it is reverse discrimination. What sense does it make to take favoritism over one group or another? Does it really solve anything? I've always thought the best person should be picked, Whether it is for aiob, college admission or anything else. Why should a company hire someone who is not going to be as profitable as someone With higher skills? It makes no sense to tell someone, or a company, that they have to hire to meet a quota for a minority. Again, you get into reverse discrimination, and it doesn't make sense to discriminate now, to make up for past wrong doings of some of our ancestors. What is wrong With Reverse Discrimination?
There are so many problems with affirmative action in its current form, The very meaning seems to be obviously wrong. It doesn't seem to be helping anyone. not even the people it was intended to help. No one should be chosen or not chosen because of color. race. creed, or religion. Take the best person for the job. We are not equal. Some people are better at things than others. Most people can except this Should there be more Anglos playing basketball even though theyre not as good as players. No. However. there is always some bleeding heart liberal wanting to try to make everything right for everyone.
It's impossible to make everything right for everyone. The very thought of it is asinine! You cam show favoritism to one group Without putting another group at a disadvantage. It's Just that simple. It cant be done. One night a bunch of me and my friends are just parting together and | ask one of them who is African-American, what does he likes to be called? I say to him, do you prefer to be called black, or African American? He responds to my question by saying, Kacey. just call me Foster man. It was such a simple response it, caught be off guard. He simply wanted to be called by his name, He didnt Want to be called African-American.

He didnt want to be called black. He didnt Want to be categorized as anything different than an American. He simply wanted to be referred to as Foster. He saw no need to be referred to any other subcategories. I respect him very much for this. My heritage is mostly German, but its also mixed With Swedish and other European countries. You dont see me running around claiming to be White-European. So why should blacks say their African-American? They have roots going back in American history Way farther than I do. My roots start in America only 3 generations ago. Surely if I can lose my heritage in only three generations and be called while, African-Americans can except being called black after a lot more than 3 generations. It only makes sense.
