The first idea for the project we had was the American revolution but after a few weeks of research we realized that there was too many parts to do in too little time. We then started looking for a project that was easier to work with in the amount of time we had. We were finally able to come to somewhat of an agreement and decided to do Louis Zamperini, he was a man that went through hell and back, and had a few triumphs on the way.

We each had to choose one part, some of us two, and started our research. Amy had when he got captured and his time of redemption, Cole had his childhood and the end of the war, Micah had what he went through with his PTSD and when he was olympic champion: and Angelina had the time when he was stuck on the raft and when he was finally off of it.

We came to a disagreement about going to regionals or not and almost split the group, we realized we were just being immature and came to an agreement of going to regionals.

We started working on a bibliography and a process paper and found a lot of good primary sources in books and websites. We ordered the book off of Amazon. com “Unbroken” by laura hillenbrand. Released on november 16, 2010. Which talks about his entire life, all of his triumphs and tragedies and what he went through.

After getting some notes from websites and books we started to work on our docummentery. We then decided that Instead of making a script and sounding like a robot, we wanted it to sound more natural and made a key point script. What that is, is we wrote things down that we were planning on going over, such as his childhood or when he got captured by the japanese.

After that we started finding pictures to go with what we were talking about and spent some time looking for background music. We finally came up with the song dream by imagine dragons and a few pictures of him in his old age, middle age, and when he was a kid. When we added the music and the pictures together they fit perfectly and it was matched with the story/theme, it was probably the first triumph we had doing this project. We realized every person that was talking needed at least 5 quotes. We did more research, even though it took a while, we finally found our quotes.

After all this work it was hard to find a weekend or school time when we were able to actually record and get our voices in. Eventually after many weeks of plans we found a time when we could finally do it. We each recorded our voices with a few technical difficulties and edited the documentary. After getting everything done we were able to relax.
