What would it probably be like to live during the time of segregation in the place of an African American? The movie "Remembering the Titans" displayed very frightening examples of the affects of attempting to have two very contrasting races live together with equality. It was like making to magnets stick together perfectly. Throughout the movie, many acts of discrimination which lead to numerous issues in the high school's football team are emphasized. The movie shows how the team has bonded through the segregation in the community and how they succeeded. An effort to improve the coordination of the team is shown in Coach Boone. Coach Boone shows heroic characteristics throughout the movie because he is a good leader, a passionate man, and a truthful human being, which leads to the intertwinement between the various races of the community.
All through the movie "Remembering the Titans," Coach Boone had symbolized a good leader; in fact, when he was asked to be the head coach of the football team for the Titans, which was his call for adventure, he accepted. When he noticed that the team had no coordination he made his first goal to bring them together. When he woke up the players at three o'clock, made them jog through a forest to the cemetery of the people who lost their lives in the Battle of Gettysburg, this resembles him being a good leader. He learned about the weaknesses and strengths of the teammates and worked on making them perfect.
Once the teammates woke up (at five in the morning) he would make them practice day and night to train them into excellence. Coach Boone not only exhibits a good leader but even reveals his passionate side introducing another heroic characteristic that he contains. As the movie "Remembering the Titans" progresses, Coach Boone shows the passionate side of him. When he puts his mind to something, he accomplishes no matter how many obstacles arise.

When he notices that the team needed coordination, he stepped up and took control and didn't bother if he offended anyone but instead, put out his feelings through pointing out each other's weaknesses and explaining how to fix them. He also displays his passionate side by showing how much he loves his family. When a dangerous brick was thrown through his window, he instructed his family to go inside and bravely took a large gun and set off to go outside. He illustrated the love he had for his family by threatening his own life and not backing away or abandoning his family during tough times and displayed a heroic characteristic.
Coach Boone is a truthful individual which is shown in the movie "Remembering the Titans." When he thinks that someone made a mistake, he straight out tells them. At football camp, while eating lunch in cafeteria, Coach Boone goes up to teammates and asks them what they know about another teammate which shows that he doesn't hesitate to decide if he will insult someone with his words. At the same time, if he thinks someone did something impressive, he will give them his complements. When Ronnie (a.k.a. Sunshine) came to join the team, he complimented his long throw because he thought it was impressive. Being a truthful person has shown how he, in an additional way, displays heroic characteristics.
During the duration the movie "Remembering the Titans," Coach Boone has shown many different characteristics that demonstrate his heroic characteristics. As Coach Boone roared, “We will be perfect in every aspect of the game. You drop a pass, you run a mile. You miss a blocking assignment, you run a mile. You fumble the football, and I will break my foot off in your John Brown hind parts and then you will run a mile. Perfection! Let's go to work," he displayed exactly how passionate he is. When he exclaims, "This is no democracy. It is a dictatorship. I am the law," he illustrates the truthful characteristic in him. Coach Boone has represented heroic characteristics for the duration of the movie leading to the interlinking of the segregated community that he lived in.
