Essay on mountain climbing experience – essay 3 (400 words)
Introduction
I always wanted to try my hands at mountain climbing. I often surfed about the mountain climbing groups that headed to different places to experience this adventure sport. I tried hard to convince my parents to allow me to go for the same however they feared I might incur some injury in the event and denied permission each time until recently when I finally managed to persuade them to send me for mountain climbing to Nag Tibba mountain located near the famous hill station, Mussoorie. Few of my friends also managed to take permission from their parents and we were super thrilled about our expedition.
My first mountain climbing experience
Nag Tibba is considered to be one of the best mountain climbing sites in India. The peak stands at a height of 9915 ft. Mountain climbing here was a two day affair and I packed my stuff accordingly. We reached the base camp at Panthwari via jeep. Our mountain climbing guide and his team were waiting there for us. We were a group of eight friends and there was another group of 12 people that was to accompany us up the mountain trek along with our guide and his team. We were given clear instructions about how to go about this adventure sport and we followed the same throughout.
Mountain climbing at Nag Tibba
The trek was beautiful. We saw the picturesque view of the hills, valleys and a variety of flora and fauna as we headed to our first stoppage, Khaitan which was about 4.5 km from Panthwari. It took us around 6 hours to reach Khaitan. We enjoyed the whole experience. We laughed and clicked pictures on our way. However, we were extremely tired by the end of it. We had piping hot Maggi as we reached Khaitan. After resting for some time, we explored the area around the place, clicked pictures and enjoyed the serenity of nature.
The next morning we trekked from Khaitan to Nag Tibba. It was a 2 hours climb amid breath-taking surroundings. We felt accomplished as we reached Nag Tibba. We stopped there for some time and then began the descent which was equally thrilling. It took around three hours to cover the same.
Conclusion
It was truly a great experience. We caught beautiful view of the Bandarpoonch peak, Kedarnath peak, Gangotri group of peaks, Changabang peaks and Doon Valley during our mountain climbing voyage. The view was breath-taking and has left a mark on us. I wish to go on many such mountain climbing expeditions in future.
Essay on My Trekking/Mountain Trip Experience with Friends – Essay 4 (500 words)
Introduction
Trekking and mountain climbing had always fascinated me. However, I didn’t know it was so amazing until I finally experienced it. I went for the Deoriatal to Chandrashila peak trek with two of my close friends and a group of complete strangers whom we soon befriended.
Deoriatal to chandrashila peak trek
Chandrashila peak trek here is considered ideal for the beginners. The travel group that had arranged for this sport had given us prior information about the kind of weather and atmosphere we should expect, the kind of clothes to carry and other equipments that should form a part of our travel bags. We were extremely excited about experiencing this new adventure sport and packed all the stuff carefully.
We reached the Sari village from our hometown, Haridwar. It took around ten hours to reach this village that was our base camp. We spent a night there and started our mountaineering experience early the next morning. Before starting with this adventure sport, we were explained about its nitty-gritty’s. Our trek leader and his team were quite experienced. Our trek leader led us, while one of his team members moved in the middle and the other at the end of our group to ensure proper guidance and security. We were given trekking poles and taught how to use them.
We began trekking from Sari to Deoriatal. The way was difficult and we would have slipped off and on had it not been for the trekking poles. The view on the way was amazing. We saw a variety of colourful birds flying freely in the sky. We also had an amazing view of the Kedarnath range. We reached Deoriatal in around four hours and stayed there for the day.
The next morning we trekked from Deoriatal to Rohini Bugyal. It was a windy day and thus it became very chilly. We trekked through the forests and witnessed lush greenery all around. It was an 8 km long trek. It was the month of December and the trek was all covered with snow. We were all tired on reaching Rohini Bugyal. We had our lunch, took some rest and roamed around to view the scenic beauty. On the third day we trekked from Rohini Bugyal to Chopta. It was a 6 km long trek covered with dry leaves and snow. We saw a beautiful waterfall on the way and sat by its side for some time.
The most challenging route
On day four, we trekked from Chopta to Tungnath to Chandrashila and back. This was the most challenging route. The trek from Tungnath to Chandrashila was especially very steep and scary. Our trek leaders remained vigilant at all times and guided us through.
We stood on the Chandrashila peak for a while to see the picturesque view and clicked several pictures. It was pure bliss. We then climbed down the mountain and reached Chopta. The next morning we trekked to Duggalbitta which was the last point of our trekking adventure. From there we went to Haridwar via bus.
Conclusion
It was a great experience. I conquered my fears and made memories for life during this mountain climbing and trekking expedition. My friends shared the same feelings and we planned to go on more such trekking voyages.

Climbing friendship peak was extreme pleasure
I had heard and read a lot about mountain climbing since my childhood. This inspired me to try this adventure sport and it was only after I experienced it first- hand did I come to know about the actual thrill and pleasure it offers. I set out for my first mountain climbing expedition with five of my friends. We decided to climb the Friendship peak that stands at an elevation of 5289 m. We were joined by a large group of people who had booked for the mountain climbing activity from the same place.
Though we were told there was no need of any special training to climb this peak and that the instructions given by the mountain guide would be enough to take up this adventure, we watched quite a few videos to understand the various nitty-gritty’s of mountaineering. We were super thrilled but at the same time quite anxious as we had chosen a difficult site. The climb here was quite steep and the path was mostly covered with snow and ice.
My climb up the friendship peak
Friendship peak forms a part of the Pir Panjal range in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district. So, we boarded a night bus from Delhi to Manali. From Manali we were taken to the Solang Valley via car. We rested at Solang Valley, enjoyed the cool breeze and the picturesque view there. We started the mountain climbing voyage the next day. We trekked from Solang to Dhundi on the first day. We spent the night at Dhundi and began our journey to the Friendship Base Camp.
After spending the night at the base camp we set out for the advance base camp that was at a distance of 3900 meter. We camped at the advanced base camp overnight. Next day, we finally set out for the Friendship Peak. The climb was steep and frightening however we were lucky to have a team of experienced mountain guides who led us through. It was indeed an accomplishment to reach the Friendship Peak. The view from the peak was mesmerizing. We took several pictures, explored the surroundings and sat amid the nature. It was an amazing experience.
Conclusion
Mountaineering offers an experience to cherish for a lifetime. Each and every moment of this adventure must be enjoyed. As Karyn Kusama puts it, “There’s no glory in climbing a mountain if all you want to do is to get to the top. It’s experiencing the climb itself – in all its moments of revelation, heartbreak, and fatigue that has to be the goal.”
