The book Freak The Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, is about two people who aren't really normal. Max is freakishly tall and Freak abnormally small. Many conflicts come along the way such as killer Kane also Blade and his Gang.

Freaks traits are short body type and intelligent brain. When other people looks at him they feel sorry for him, but Freak doesn't like it. Many conflicts came up along his life but the biggest struggle of all is that he is physically disabled. My favorite quote from him is "die earthling die". He said that when he first met Max. If it wasn't for Freak Max would have been an awful reader. But since Freak's reading ability was very high, he decided to help Max. One message I have learned from Freak would be to live my life to the fullest. My life connection to freak would be my cousin who is very intelligent and very short. The entire time that we were reading this book I was imagining my cousin and I was thinking about him the whole time.

Blade and his gang's trait are that they are really athletic, energetic and fast but mean at the same time. Others are afraid of them because they carry around a blade. The leader's real name is Tony but they call him Blade. Conflicts that came up are the confrontation with police because of their behavior which always got them in trouble. One quote that Tony said was "slice and dice". Sorry, but that sounds really scary to me. I believe that blade and his gangs remain rule is to be in conflict with Freak and Max. Blade doesn't have any friends, because he is so mean. My life connection to Blade is my other cars in who is really mean. Of course he has few friends but I am sure they are mean just like my cousin and they are not that man

One famous saying I would conclude from this book would be "don't judge a book by its cover" Freak is a freak but it kind, intelligent friend. And Tony is like the cool kids in our school who are mean to other people. Another thing is being short or tall does not show who you really are. I am tall but I like everything that I am not mean to anyone. I have athletic friends who are sweet and nice and very caring.yi am tall and skinney others think im nice. One quate I say is omghhkp!

The next morning, Max woke up early to go see Freak, without anyone knowing. When he got to the hospital, the nurses were crying and trying to hug Max. He wanted to know what had happened and no one would tell him. Therefore, he broke the window to the medical research door. The next door he could not break through, because it was all metal. So the security struggled with Max and finally got hand-cuffs on him. When Dr. Spivak got there, Max calmed down and told him what happened. Freak was not going there for a new body. He made that up, he always knew since he was young that he was not going to live long.

For the next year or so, Max is depressed about Freak dying. That's until he sees Loretta Lee and she told him that him doing nothing was a drag. Therefore, that night, Max opened the pyramid box Freak had made, took out the empty book, and started writing in it.

Critical analysis

I really enjoyed reading this book. I was so into the story, that even I was sad when I read Freak had died. I would love to read more stories like this one, but Freak lives.
