This class, composition one was a very interesting class if I do say so myself. The teacher himself, Professor Wright, is a very interesting dude. I honestly walked into this class hoping he wouldn't be a stickler in the mud towards attendance due to all my issues in my life and at home. Little did I find out, he kind of is but that doesn't take away the fact that he was willing to teach a student like me with excessive absences and a disdain taste for composition and writing.
I came into this class with a pretty good grasp on writing because of my prior history with AP classes in high school and practice I've received at home. Those past experiences taught me as writer to always have an easy flow to my writing and a good use of coming as a casual. Although I say all this about my past experience, I was pretty much punched in the face when I received my first essay back with a grade of 72. When I received that I learned that I needed to make a change and learn some new writing techniques and actually show up to class.. The only problem is showing up to class and the untimely events that happened to me that led to many of my absences taking a toll on the overall quality of my papers.
Strengths in my paper are very inconsistent strengths. In some of my papers I'll give many examples of the topic I'm going over, but yet it always seems kind of empty and hollow or has little to no substance. In my bottled VS tap water essay, I had many resources but not enough detail or information about each source, it seemed as if it was rushed or hollow. Professor Wright even wrote that it seemed like it didn't have enough substance but had a lot of sources.

It's very important that I have to work on this because even if I had a lot of resources papers can seem pretty hollow and actually kind of suck. Another strength in my papers is that I'll always have something to talk about no matter what the paper or the subject is. In my religion essay, I have no idea about religions but yet, I can expand my essays and take up the words necessary to get to the limit. The essay required that we have 5 pages and yet I struggled to get there because it was a very hard subject to talk about but yet I still made it.
This skill in expanding essays is important because it really opens up your mind about how to expand an essay. The weaknesses in my essay are very easy to see. I tend to have this tendency of repeating words just like I did right here. In all of my essays I do this just to make the word limit because sometimes I just run out of words to say. I need to work on this because it's important to know how to write an essay without sounding redundant, professors don't like it, I don't like it and nobody likes it.
Another weakness I have is speaking with a formal sense of mind. I have a easy going personality and I usually come off as casual in everything I do. When I write essays I usually tend to sound informal and that leads me to having a different feel to my essay then what my professors want. In the first bottled vs. tap water essay, I did this because I came off sort of biased even though I wasn't picking a side because I used more emotion on one side than the other. I really need to work on this because it leads to confusion and it makes things come out wrong.
So overall with the conclusion of this reflective analysis essay! I learned that Professor Wright is actually a really badass dude who really knows how to grab the attention of the class. I actually enjoy this class when I attend it because it's really funny and I enjoy humor with my education. I also learned that my skills as a writer really need improvement, if I want to make it in composition 2. I'm excited for the challenges that are suppose to arise in composition 2 especially in how the papers are suppose to be more complex and the readings are more interesting. I'm really excited towards composition 2 and I hope to get professor Wright for it.
