We chose the topic, “ How technology impacts art and artists.” We chose this topic because we like art and we want to see how technology changed art. We had the question, what skills does a computer animator need. We hope to find the answer in this assignment. For this information, we got is from a website called Smithsonian Mag. From this set of information, we got a lot of notes. We found out that it mostly says that you need to have a creative imagination and confidence to create the things you want to make with technology.

We didn’t get very much information on this website so it was hard to get the information we need to answer. This article says that you need to be good at hand drawing, have a cool head under pressure, and have a creative mind. If you don’t have a cool head under pressure, you will get stressed and not be able to work. We got this information from the website called www.theguardian.com. For the information we have, you need to be a good coder. You use the coding for commands the computer animations that you create.

We found out that you need to be able to use Autodesk, Lightwave, Maya, Soft Images, Photoshop, and Corel Draw to create a real movement for characters in a variety of mediums. You also need to specialize in these areas: Character Animation Compositing General Animation Lighting Textures People who are self-employed need to be independent of their work. People who are employed by a company have to be able to get the job done with the tools that they have in the office. In conclusion, the computer animators need to be creative, confident, independent, cool-headed, and hard working. They also need to know how to use character animation, compositing, general animation, lighting, textures, Autodesk, Lightwave, Maya, Soft Images, Photoshop, and Corel Draw. With all of these skills, you can do amazing things like making animations or making a movie.
